Otaku | Packing Puzzle
The Otaku is a simple packing puzzle designed by Jeff Baz in July 2021 for Otakon 2021 to celebrate the fact that events are opening back up from a devastating pandemic. Each piece is unique and will fit in a 5x5x2 tray, but there is only two solutions. The signature piece is in the shape of a fish and a fan!
This packing puzzle is a culmination of 9 unique pieces made from reclaimed woods from my workshop; some exotic, some common, but all of it would have been destined to the scrap pile. The wooden box is made from reclaimed woods that were used for event booth builds. The puzzle is about 3 x 3 x 1.25 inches. I have crafted the puzzle to give new life to the "less than perfect" pieces from other projects to make something beautiful, unique and fun!
Some pieces may vary in wood species but most will include the following:
Sapele, Black Walnut, Maple, Cherry, White Oak and Ash.
The pieces are finished with matte lacquer.
The box is unfinished pine.
